The Sony A55 is a DSLT camera with a 16mp APS-C sensor, tilt/swivel screen, and a pretty decent EVF. Sony calls this an “SLT” camera rather than an SLR, thanks to its unusual optical system: the mirror is a fixed, translucent component thattransmitsmost of the light to the sensor, and bounces a small portion up to the viewfinder housing, where a traditional phase-based system runs the autofocus system. The result is a camera that’s built for live view, but with phase-detect AF performance. It’s pretty clever! This camera is compatible with Sony DSLR and Minolta Maxxum lenses, but it’s not compatible with any Sony mirrorless lenses- that’s a different mount, despite sharing the “alpha” designation. Approximately 17k actuations. Includes two batteries andcharger.
