The new mid-range from Oppo

With the Oppo Reno, the manufacturer from China is sending three strong representatives of the mid-range into the race. The Oppo Reno 9 Pro impresses with MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max, a 120 Hz AMOLED display, a 50 megapixel dual camera and uncompromisingly good features.

The slightly different design

At first glance, the Oppo Reno 9 Pro appears simple, elegant and rather restrained in terms of design. Apart from the punch hole, the front is dominated by the display. The back shows a two-part and round camera array. Detached from this, only the Oppo logo can still be seen there. The unusual design becomes clear at second glance: the special coating of the casing provides an extravagant look and makes the device pleasant to hold at the same time. With its dimensions of 162.3 x 74.2 x 7.19 mm and a weight of 174 g, the smartphone is ideal for stowing in a trouser pocket.

AMOLED display with 120 Hz

Given the display size of 6.7 inches, the dimensions are pleasantly compact thanks to a 93 % screen-to-display ratio. Gamers and fast scrollers, on the other hand, will be even more pleased with the high refresh rate of 120 Hz. This ensures absolutely smooth image reproduction. Thanks to the AMOLED panel, colour reproduction is also at the highest level. The maximum brightness of the panel is a powerful 950 nits. Digital content is reproduced with up to 2412 x 1080 pixels and therefore with 394 ppi.

Focus on quality

The Oppo Reno 9 Pro focuses on quality not only with regard to the display, but also with regard to the built-in cameras. On the front, a 32-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture is hidden in the punch hole. The back, on the other hand, can impress with a dual camera, which is led by a 50 megapixel wide-angle sensor with f/1.8 aperture and OIS. The super wide-angle sensor, on the other hand, has a resolution of 8 megapixels, is equipped with an f/2.2 aperture and offers a shooting angle of 120 degrees.

Flagship CPU included

Although the Oppo Reno 9 Pro is a mid-range device, a very powerful processor is waiting inside the casing. The MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max offers a clock speed of up to 2.85 GHz, is accompanied by a Mali G610 MC6 GPU that has been improved once again and promises extreme performance that even mobile games of the coming years will not be able to exhaust so quickly. Rounded off by 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512 GB UFS 3.1 ROM, the smartphone is absolutely future-proof.

WiFi 6 and 5G are in

Apart from the highlights already described, the Oppo Reno 9 Pro also offers all known standards. The connection to the internet is made possible via WiFi 6 or Dual 5G. Contactless payment via NFC is also possible, as is an energy-efficient connection to wireless headphones and other gadgets via Bluetooth 5.2. The built-in stereo speakers ensure proper playback of music and movie content. The operating system used is Color OS 13, which is based on Android 13.
